The Writer's Retreat, RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2015, Gold Award and Best in Show
The inspiration for the garden was the writer A A Milne and how he perhaps created ‘Winnie the Pooh’ by watching his son Christopher Robin play in his garden.
Working with Anthea Guthrie I created the hovel using natural wood. Coloured glass balls were imbedded in the clay cob walls. The roof was made of hazel sticks with a wild flower turf roof. I also built the stream that went through the garden and the ‘Pooh Sticks’ bridge. The whole garden had a very natural and wild planting scheme.
